Bulldogs Stand Sixth At Preview Invitational

The 17th-ranked Georgia men's golf team stands sixth after one round of the PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational.

On Sunday at the Capital City Club's Crabapple Course, the Bulldogs fired an 8-over 288. The Bulldogs are seven shots behind UNLV, which opened with a 1-over 281.

Sophomore Nicholas Reach paced the Bulldogs on Sunday with an even-par 70, landing him seventh individually. San Diego State's Tom Berry carded a 3-under 67 for the first-round lead. Freshman Lee McCoy followed Reach with a 1-over 71 for 11th place, while junior Keith Mitchell signed for a 2-over 72, and senior T.J. Mitchell and junior Joey Garber each posted a 5-over 75.

"We were grinding out there today," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "This is a challenging course and our guys did a good job of battling it. We left a few shots out there, but we're still in it and we're looking forward to the next two days."

Crabapple will serve as the site of the NCAA Championships next spring.

The second round will begin at 9:50 a.m. for the Bulldogs. Live scoring and tee times can be found at golfstatresults.com.
