Haack Chosen For Hall Of Fame Induction

Coach Chris Haack has been chosen for induction into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.

Haack and the rest of the Class of 2018 will be inducted Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at the Macon City Auditorium. Tickets and sponsorships for the induction ceremony are available by calling (478) 752-1585.

Georgia women's golf standout Terri Moody Hancock also will be inducted. She is the daughter of Griffin Moody and sister of Griff Moody, each of whom played for and captained the Bulldogs. The other members of the Class of 2018 are Champ Bailey, Arthur Blank, Tom Cousins, Tracy Rocker, Angelo Taylor and Kenny "Sky" Walker.

Haack is in his 22nd season as the Bulldogs’ head coach for golf. He has guided Georgia to a school-record 60 tournament titles, including two national and eight SEC championships. Haack is a 2-time National and a 5-time SEC Coach of the Year. He has produced 60 All-Americans, many of whom currently are starring on the PGA Tour. Haack previously was inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America and the Georgia State Golf Association halls of fame.

• Harris English, Chris Kirk and Keith Mitchell will be in action this week in the Safeway Open in California. Mitchell is making his first start as a member of the PGA Tour.

• The Bulldogs placed 14th in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Oregon. Trevor Phillips paced the Bulldogs in the final round with a 5-under 66 to land in 14th at 5-under 208. The sophomore's place, third-round score and overall tally marked career bests. The Bulldogs will return to action Oct. 16-17 in the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate in Carmel, Ind.
