The Georgia men’s golf team will return to
action Sunday through Tuesday in the Querencia Cabo Intercollegiate in Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico.
Live results can be found at Golfstat.com. Action will
begin each day at Querencia Golf Club (par 72, 6,928 yards) with an 11 a.m. shotgun start.
The Bulldogs – who are ranked No. 5 by Golfstat, No. 10 by
the GCAA and No. 12 by Golfweek this week – enter the tournament as the
defending champions after posting a 10-shot victory a year ago.
Georgia and co-hosts Arkansas and Houston will be joined by
Baylor, California, Duke, Florida State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Rice, South
Florida, Texas, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Washington.
Georgia will use a lineup of seniors Jaime Lopez Rivarola
and Greyson Sigg, sophomores Jack Larkin Jr. and Tye Waller, and freshman
Spencer Ralston. Ralston leads the Bulldogs with a scoring average of 70.47,
followed by Sigg at 70.53.
The Bulldogs will be looking for their first win of the year
as they have placed second in three of their five stroke-play events.
“We’ve been close, so we’re encouraged by that,” Georgia
head coach Chris Haack said. “We had some success in Mexico last year and we
hope to build off of that. The main thing is, we’re hitting the ball well and
putting ourselves in contention.”
